"Console, aka Martin Gretschmann, may be the most well-known musician from Weilheim, for both his work as the electronic side of Notwist and his success as a solo act. His biggest hit came in 1999 with the electro-vocoder hymn *14 Zero Zero". In 2001 he made himself heard through a remix for Depeche Mode and his collaboration with Bjork for one track on her album "Vespertine". The third Console LP, "Live At Centre Pompidou", came out in December 2001, and in Spring 2002 comes the long-awaited fifth Notwist album, "Neon Golden". Melancholy vocals, paired with sensitive horn and string parts, fat dub passages, and subtle electronica result in a listening experience that is totally unique to this format. "
